Bayside Radio Interview: Ethical Workforce Solutions & Conwy Employment Hub Announce New Social Care Course
Ethical Workforce Solutions was proud to join Conwy Employment Hub on Bayside Radio in August to share details of an exciting new partnership — and the launch of a fully-funded training opportunity that’s set to support more people into meaningful careers in care.
The interview featured Ash from Ethical Workforce Solutions and Alice Kirwan from Conwy Employment Hub, hosted by Simon at Bayside Radio, who explored how this new collaboration will open doors for local people looking to build confidence, gain essential skills, and take the first step into health and social care.

A new pathway into care
Together, we’re delivering a brand-new 5-day “Get Ready for Social Care” course in Colwyn Bay, starting this October. The course is fully funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and offers:
- Training aligned with the All Wales Social Care Induction Framework
- The All Wales Moving & Handling Passport
- Hands-on learning with real equipment
- Personalised support with CVs, applications, and interview preparation
- Guaranteed interviews for every participant who completes the course
Why this course is unique
Health and social care continues to be one of the region’s biggest sectors, and demand for skilled staff remains high. This course has been designed in direct response to the needs of local employers, helping those without experience gain the knowledge and confidence to succeed.
As Ash explained in the interview:
“We didn’t want to just offer a generic training course and say ‘good luck’ at the end. We’ve built in guaranteed interviews and sector-specific career support so people walk away with real opportunities — not just a certificate.”
Course details
- Enrolment Day: Monday 29 September, 10am–12pm
- Course Dates: Monday 6 – Friday 10 October, 9am–5pm
- Location: Ethical Workforce Solutions, 40 Station Road, Colwyn Bay (opposite the train station)
- Cost: Fully funded (free for eligible Conwy residents aged 16+)
Participants must attend the enrolment session and all five days of the course to complete it.
