This half-day Clinical Observations training course is suitable for health care assistants.

Course Length. 3.5 hours

Introduction

This half day course is ideal for those working in a HCA capacity in a general hospital or for any care staff who’s role involves formal patient observations. For in-house courses, your organisation’s specific protocols and record formats can be included, to tailor the training for your own needs.

Course Contents

Observations using your senses – sight, hearing, smell and touch
Basic Infection Control Precautions
Communication
Temperature
Blood Pressure
Pulse
Respiration
Oxygen Saturation
Tissue Viability
Blood Glucose Monitoring and Fluid Balance
Record Keeping
The training includes theory, practical, audio and video content and participants practice their skills with a range of common equipment (provided by the trainer) found in the care setting.

Course Outcomes

Successful completion of this training course will result in the award of a CPD accredited certificate covering all aspects of the above course contents
