Free Networking and Learning Events for Care Providers in Cheshire and Telford and Wrekin
This December, Ethical Workforce Solutions is partnering with Partners in Care to host two free networking and learning events for care providers in Telford and Wrekin and in Cheshire. Both sessions are designed to bring people together, share practical insight and support those working across adult social care.
Bringing providers together in Telford and Wrekin and Cheshire
The first event will take place at Telford Fire Station on Tuesday 9 December and is free for Telford and Wrekin providers. The second event will follow on Tuesday 16 December at the Ethical Workforce Solutions Training Centre in Ellesmere Port and is free for Cheshire care providers.
Each session includes time for discussion, questions and networking, making them useful for Registered Managers, senior care staff and anyone involved in quality, governance or compliance within adult social care.
Spotlight on Ethical Workforce Solutions’ Senior Nurse, Deborah Dawson
Ethical Workforce Solutions’ Senior Nurse, Deborah Dawson, will lead a key session at both events. Deborah has almost 30 years of experience across acute and high dependency care, Primary Care and Adult Social Care. She holds a Master’s degree in dermatology, the V300 independent nurse prescribing qualification and has developed community dermatology and skin surgery clinics, alongside lecturing at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Her session will offer a practical guide to preparing for CQC inspections with confidence, drawing on her experience supporting a service previously rated as requiring improvement and guiding it through meaningful and sustained quality improvement.
Safeguarding insight from Partners in Care’s Karen Littleford
Attendees will also hear from Karen Littleford, Safeguarding Adults Lead at Partners in Care. Karen has worked in safeguarding and social care since 2005 and delivers a wide range of training programmes. She represents Partners in Care across key safeguarding boards and partnership groups linked to the Shropshire Safeguarding Community Partnership and the Telford and Wrekin Safeguarding Partnership.
Karen facilitates the Networking Opportunity for Trainers and the Safeguarding Adults Forum. She holds an MA in Safeguarding Adults, Law, Policy and Practice, along with professional teaching and mentoring qualifications, and has recently begun the Leading Culture Change in Safeguarding course at the University of Worcester. She is known for her calm, clear approach when supporting providers with safeguarding questions and concerns.
Her session, Safeguarding, Making Bravery Redundant, looks at what confident safeguarding practice means in day to day care settings and how organisations can build cultures where concerns are raised promptly and responded to appropriately.
