Introduction
A thorough understanding of health and safety is essential in all workplaces, regardless of job role and industry – and even more so in care services where vulnerable individuals and their health needs may pose a greater risk than others.
This accredited Level 2 Health and Safety course ensures that staff understand the most common health and safety risks within social care services and the control measures that are needed to keep people safe.
The course covers the most crucial aspects of health and safety that are present, such as manual handling, fire risks and electrical safety. It is developed further to consider distressed behaviours that may challenge services as well as the requirement to balance “a person’s home” with “a place of work”. It also explains the necessary components of workplace welfare, including workplace stress and conflict.
